Happy Friday!

We are so excited to announce that we will finally selling our 100% Grass-Fed Beef. All of the beef comes from cows that were born and raised on our farm on nothing but mama’s milk, fresh water, pasture and sunshine. We hope you will try it.

I know you have been disappointed that we have been short on our stock of Pastured-Raised Chicken. With 2016 being our first year with chicken, we were overwhelmed with the positive response. We are doubling our production this spring to make sure we have plenty in stock by the middle of April.

Until then, we are clearing out our chicken inventory by offering

BUY ONE GET ONE FREE

on all remaining stock of cuts of chickens processed in the fall/winter. This includes leg quarters, wings, feet, stock bones and any remaining organ meat, but does not include any remaining whole chickens. If you are interested, we also have a few half-chickens left over from last spring included in the BOGO sale. They have been vacuum sealed and frozen. Our processor assures us that they will last over one year. We cooked up five of them with our family last week for Spring Break and they were delicious.

In the Pasture:

Spring is definitely in the air…we had 8 baby piglets born last week and 11 born this morning. Love, love love baby pigs…our mama pigs are really gentle and let us snuggle up and take pictures of the little ones. In addition, we have tons of baby chicks on pasture and several mama cows are due any day now.

In the Kitchen:

Meatloaf has never been one of my favorite dishes…probably because I don’t like tomato sauce…but last week I found an awesome recipe for a Savory Meatloaf that absolutely changed my mind about meatloaf. Even my picky eater, Carter, asked for seconds. I did change it up a bit by using all of our pastured ground pork instead of half beef and half pork….

Check it out and let me know what you think:

At the Market:

It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend. So, get out, spend sometime in the sunshine and stop by the Farmer’s Market.

This weekend, the whole family will be at the Fulshear Farmer’s Market Saturday om 9-1. Hope to see you there.

Beginning April 1st we will begin attending a second market on Saturdays from 9-1. It is the Energy Corridor Farmer’s Market located at off of Hwy 6 and I-10 in west Houston.
