At Erbe Ranch, our cattle are 100% Grass-Fed.  The animals are not given growth hormones or antibiotics. We provide free-choice vitamins and minerals which allows the each animal to individually balance their nutritional needs. We provide fresh clean water and shelter for inclement weather. All of our calves were born on our farm and receive only their mother’s milk and grass/forage for their entire lives.  According to, health benefits from Grass-Fed beef are:

  • Lower in total fat
  • Lower saturated fat content
  • Higher in total omega-3 fatty acids (good fats)
  • A healthier ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids
  • Higher in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a potential cancer fighter
  • Higher in vaccenic acid (which can be turned into CLA)
  • Higher in Vitamin E
  • Higher in B Vitamins
  • Higher in beta-carotene
  • Higher in the minerals calcium, magnesium and potassium

We raise cattle out on pasture in sections of land known as “paddocks”.  Cattle paddocks range in size depending on the available forage and the number of “head’ of cattle in the paddock.  The Farmer monitors the paddock daily and moves the cattle when the forage has been grazed sufficiently. The goal of this farming method is to allow the animals to eat the most nutritious/palatable portions of the grass without grazing it down to bare ground. Their hooves break up the top crust of the soil which allows the deposited manure and organic matter to reach the plant roots below. Another benefit to this method is the reduction in the amount of rain that runs off of the land. This greatly increases our ability to withstand dry periods. Once grazed, the paddocks are allowed to rest, recover and regrow before animals are rotated back. This farming method produces healthier soils, healthier plants and healthier animals.
